Derma roller and dermapen
Ageing of the skin can be reduced by skin by limiting sun exposure, avoiding contact with harsh chemicals that are skin irritants and by moisturising regularly.
Ageing results in a decline in our collagen and elastin levels in the skin causing the skin to lose strength and feel less firm with deepening of wrinkles. The skin starts becoming thinner and discoloured to a varying degree.
Derma roller hair loss and scar treatments are advanced aesthetic treatments that can produce astounding results by using a skin micro needling technique to promote skin renewal by inducing collagen and elastin production and boosting cell regeneration. A small roller or pen with multiple tiny needles is passed across the skin to create multiple tiny micro punctures that stimulate skin repair and new collagen synthesis which can help with a variety of common conditions affecting the skin. The results of a derma roller treatment will be visible gradually over 4 to 6 weeks but can take up to 12 weeks to become noticeable.
Conditions that can be treated with Derma roller and Dermapen:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Skin blemishes
- Age related discolouration
- Stretch marks
- Sun damage
- Acne scarring
How is Derma roller and Dermapen treatment done?
A small amount of blood (11 mL) is drawn from your arm into a special closed system kit that allows us to spin and extract the plasma. The liquid is then injected into the superficial layers of the skin using a micro droplet (0.05 mL) with the thinnest needles sourced from and manufactured only in Japan across the area being treated. The total procedure time for a derma roller or Dermapen is approximately 50 minutes.
What are the risks?
Derma roller and Dermapen is a very safe procedure with minimal risk which include:
• Pain
• Transient swelling or bruising
• Infection rarely
• Pigmentary changes
Does it hurt?
After cleansing the skin, an anaesthetic cream is applied for 20 to 30 minutes which will numb the area. Some pain and discomfort may be felt during the procedure and application of witch hazel following the completion of the procedure cools and soothes the skin.
How long does Derma roller and Dermapen treatment last?
Derma roller and Dermapen usually lasts for over 12 months and a course of 6 treatments are recommended to produce the desired result.
