Excess sweating
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a common condition caused by overactive sweat glands producing an excessive amount of sweating even when at rest or in cool conditions.
Hyperhidrosis can be a very embarrassing condition and can lead to significant emotional distress which can further exacerbate the condition. Excessive sweating can result in avoidance of social interactions.
The areas that are commonly affected include the forehead, hands, feet and underarms or the axilla. Certain factors such as caffeine or nicotine may also exacerbate the condition.
Hyperhidrosis injections can be injected into the skin in problem areas and is highly effective at stopping excessive sweating. Using these injections for sweating works by blocking nerves which stimulate sweating.
